152: ADAMS , Site none, Sun 01-Mar-1992 23:56:02 GMT, Marigold went down & missing file probl
Marigold went down at 21:36Z, jd=61 for unknown reasons.

Then, however we were not able to bring it back up, and the
other adams also would not come up successfully. Finally traced
the problem - ingest was not able to run on ASTER because
/home/aster/config/channel_config was missing.
It had been a link to $ASTER/projects/$PROJECT/ops2/channel_config
but I (gdm) had recently moved the files on ops2 to ops1, since
(I thought) ops2 was not really necessary.

Once we re-linked /home/aster/config/channel_config to the file
on ops1, ingest would run OK.

The ingest error message was misleading, it was reporting an error
in opening sio_converters, when actually the fopen() was failing
on channel_config.

Adams were brought up at 23:35Z, but then marigold died again
at 23:53.

TROUBLES WITH MARIGOLD:

	The initial problem with marigold
this afternoon continued after the system
was brought back up. The ethernet transceiver
for marigold was showing collisions on every
transmit. The transceiver was replaced and the
collisions went away. It should be noted that the
old transceiver had its 'SQE' active. We will
disable it and try the transceiver tomorrow if
marigold stays up through the night. The only
thing unique about today was the high temperatures.

MARIGOLD PROBLEMS:

Marigold went down again last night
at 02:30 GMT. Decided to replace the ADAM
box since the present box was the new one
built last summer. During the development
of the humitter this new box was used and
at times there were some backplane problems.
The original Ironics card was put back into
marigold. Everything back up and running
at 14:55 GMT.
